Privacy notice for India
Our main Privacy policy is kept up to date by Shopify, our store platform. This page adds, in plain words, what customers in India should know under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What we collect and why
- Your name, phone number, email and delivery address: to take your order, deliver it and keep you updated.
- Order, payment and return details: for cancellations, returns, refunds and GST invoices. Payments go through Razorpay; we never see or store your card details.
- Messages you send us on WhatsApp, email or phone: so we can help you.
- Offers and book picks by email or WhatsApp: only if you sign up.
Who we share it with
Only what is needed, with the services that run our shop: Shopify (our store platform), Razorpay (payments), ShipRocket and its courier partners (delivery), and our email and WhatsApp tools. We don't sell your personal details.
How long we keep it
As long as we need it for your orders, or as long as the law asks us to (for example, tax invoices). Then we delete it.
Your choices
- Ask for a summary of the details we hold about you, or ask us to correct, update or delete them.
- Stop marketing messages any time: tap "unsubscribe" in our emails or tell us on WhatsApp. Order updates will still reach you.
- Name someone to use these rights for you if you are ever unable to.
- Ask for this notice in Tamil or another Indian language.
How to reach us
Write to our Grievance Officer, Sruthi Bargavi (Proprietor), at info@brainchapters.com or on WhatsApp at +91 86670 98927 (daily, 10 AM to 10 PM). Please mention the phone number or email you ordered with, so we can find your details. We reply within 48 hours and settle your request within one month.
Children
Orders are placed by adults (18 and over). We don't knowingly collect children's personal details. If you think a child has shared theirs with us, tell us and we will delete them.
