It began with one more story
Every parent knows the question that comes after the lights go off: "One more story?"
When we went looking for books for the children we love, we kept finding two kinds of shelves. Huge ones, where the good books were buried under thousands of forgettable ones. And tiny ones, with the same few titles everywhere. We wanted the shelf in between: small enough to trust, rich enough to surprise.
So we started building one. Book by book, we kept only the ones that earned their place: the picture book that made a toddler laugh until bedtime ran late, the folk tale that sounded like a grandmother telling it, the puzzle that kept small hands busy long after a screen would have taken over.
That shelf became Brain Chapters. We began in February 2025, and today we are a little bookstore at The Marina Mall on OMR, Chennai, and a home online at brainchapters.com. Every book a child finishes is a new chapter in who they are becoming. That is what our name means to us.
Meet our Chief Curator
Sruthi Bargavi chooses everything we sell. She reads, plays and tests what we stock, the way a child would. Her rule is simple: if a book doesn't earn a place on a child's bedtime shelf, it doesn't earn a place on ours.
Because she picks titles one at a time, many of our books come in limited copies. When the site says "only 1 left", it means it.
What you'll find with us
- Books, games and STEAM kits for ages 0 to 16, sorted by age so the right one is easy to find.
- Indian stories beside the world's best. Folk tales, mythology and Indian authors share the shelf with favourite picture books from everywhere.
- Real people to talk to. Message us on WhatsApp for a recommendation, or book a video-call shopping session.
- More than a shop. Story sessions, puppet shows and festival events at the store, pop-up stalls at school fairs, and return-gift hampers for birthday parties.
