“If there’s a picture of Sai Baba in your prayer corner, here are the stories that go with that kind face. Its short episodes make it simple to share one each Thursday.”
A humble fakir by his fire, and a town turning to him.
The Story of Sai Baba is a full-colour comic about the saint of Shirdi, based on the Sai Satcharitra.
Nobody in Shirdi knows where the calm, barefoot fakir has come from, but soon people in trouble are seeking him out. A frightened blacksmith and a man bedridden with tuberculosis are among those who come to him for help. Told as a series of episodes, the comic shows the deep faith that ordinary people placed in him.
Why readers love it
- A breathless blacksmith racing in with his small son, desperate to find Sai Baba.
- Buti's burning thirst during a cholera scare, when even milk is forbidden.
- A swami from Alandi travelling to Shirdi by bullock cart, with ear pain that won't go away.
