The Snow Queen is an easy-to-read retelling of the fairy tale about a girl's brave quest to rescue her best friend.
Kay is Gerda's best friend, until splinters from a demon's shattered mirror get into him and he suddenly changes. Then the Snow Queen carries him off, and everyone believes he is gone for good. Everyone except Gerda, who sets out alone for the frozen north to bring him home.
