“Here peeking is allowed, even encouraged, thanks to a round hole cut clean through the pages. Spotting who’s still waiting their turn makes story time a giggly guessing game.”
A lizard, a volcano and a whole stack of very silly dinos.
Silly Dinos is a peek-through picture book about a gang of playful dinosaurs who would rather have fun than just eat and sleep.
Each spread follows one silly dino on a little adventure. One hunts for lizards and tumbles over a rock; another is dancing by a volcano when it erupts. Through a round window cut into the pages, the rest of the gang waits for their turn.
Why children love it
- Die-cut windows show the dinos still waiting, and the stack shrinks with every page.
- Big sound words to shout together, like "Boom, fizz, sizzle!"
- A repeating question, "What are the other silly dinos doing?", keeps little ones guessing.
Quick answers
Is it good for reading aloud? Yes. Sound words like "Hop, hop, crash!" and the repeating question make it easy for little listeners to join in.
Is there a similar title? Yes. The back cover suggests Silly Farm Animals for more of the same kind of silliness.
