“An exploding headteacher earns any book a place on our shelf. Beneath the potion chaos, Pete takes a bully’s jibes but draws the line at insults to his dad.”
A briefcase of potions might just save the family pizza shop.
Pizza Pete and the Perilous Potions is a funny, magical adventure about a boy trying to save his dad's pizza shop.
Pete lives above the pizza shop with his dad and has promised never to leave home again. Then a new restaurant steals their customers, and unless sales pick up, Pete must move. With his friend Anna, he finds a mysterious briefcase in the attic, and the magical pizzas begin, along with a fire-breathing dog.
Why children love it
- Pete tells the story himself, frozen in a doorway "like a fat chunk of pineapple".
- A race against time: four days to earn enough to keep their home.
- Lively drawings, like Pete balancing a tall stack of pizza boxes.
