“Parents of stubborn children will laugh hardest at this one. Their children, meanwhile, will cheer Meena on every time a grown-up loses patience.”
Meena gets a real camel for her birthday and won't get off.
Get Off That Camel! is a funny picture book about a camel-crazy girl who refuses to climb down from her new pet.
Meena has loved camels since she was a baby. So when she is given a real one for her birthday, she is thrilled, and up she climbs. To school, to the cinema and just about everywhere else, Meena rides her camel, no matter who tells her to get down.
Why children love it
- A running joke: everyone shouts "Get off that camel!" and Meena simply doesn't.
- A long-legged camel squeezed into a classroom and a cinema, to everyone's dismay.
- Warm, detailed pictures of grumpy grown-ups, startled classmates and one long-suffering camel.
