“Asleep till lunch, then glued to a video game: these lambs could be anyone’s Sunday. Grown-ups laugh at the joke while little ones count down and stroke each woolly texture.”
Five lazy lambs, one busy day of doing absolutely nothing.
Never Touch the Lazy Lambs is a rhyming counting board book about five lambs taking the laziest day off ever.
The lambs are lounging about, and the rhyme counts them down from five. One prefers to sleep till lunch, and another won't stop playing video games until she wins. Each time a lamb drops out, children count how many are left.
Why children love it
- Every lamb has its own texture, from bobbly black wool to a fleece of pink flowers.
- Counting down is built into the rhyme, with lines like "so that leaves three."
- Silly details to spot, like a lamb in sunglasses on a hammock and popcorn-munching gamers.

Quick answers
What skills does it build? Early counting, plus sensory play and shared time with a grown-up, as the back cover notes.
Why do the lambs vanish? Die-cut holes let each textured lamb disappear as the countdown goes on, leaving one fewer to touch.
