“Every child who has ever guarded a snack will recognise Guru straight away. It’s funny, proudly South Indian, and a lovely way to talk about sharing without a lecture.”
One packet of murukkus. One very hungry boy. Zero plans to share.
Karukku Norukku is a funny picture book about snack time, sharing and the crunch of a good murukku.
Guru loves every kind of murukku, and he loves the crunch they make even more. The trouble is, Amma never lets him eat as many as he wants. So when a whole packet finally lands in his hands, Guru needs a plan: how do you munch the lot without anyone noticing, and without sharing a single one?
Why children love it
- The title is the crunch itself, a chant children will want to join in with.
- Bold, textured pictures, with giant golden murukkus swirling across the pages.
- Big, funny moments made for reading aloud, like Guru's cry of "That was my last murukku!"
