Factivity: Amazing Animals

Who eats whom in the desert? Follow the food chain and see.

Factivity: Amazing Animals is a fact-and-activity book about the animal world, where children read the facts and then do the puzzles.

The journey runs by land, sea and air, through habitats from the icy poles to rainforests and deserts. Along the way, children see how food chains work: in the Namib Desert, a barking gecko feeds on termites, and a black-backed jackal will eat almost anything. Then they put the facts to work with activities, puzzles and mazes.

What's inside

• Grassland food chains from three continents, from Africa's lion to Asia's steppe eagle.
• Track puzzles, like matching each desert animal to its burrow by its footprints.
• Strange-but-true facts, like the welwitschia, a desert plant with only two leaves.
