ABC Cursive Writing

A unicorn for u, a unicycle too, and cursive loops to trace.

ABC Cursive Writing is a handwriting practice book for learning to write every English letter in cursive, both capital and small.

Children work letter by letter, tracing rows of dotted cursive and then writing on empty ruled lines by themselves. Exercise pages mix things up, such as writing the missing first letter for a frog, a hut and some grass.

What's inside

• Numbered arrows on the model letters show the order of the strokes.
• Picture words written in cursive show how letters join up into whole words.
• Revision exercises, like practising small letters e to i in one go.

Quick answers

What is cursive writing? A joined-up style of handwriting where the letters flow into each other, often taught once children know their print letters.

Does it help with school handwriting? Yes. The tracing exercises build pencil control along with the ability to write cursive capitals and small letters.
